Driven. Determined. Dedicated.
I started out in the music business as part of the street team at Sound In Color Records in Los Angeles, where I helped promote the release of Fishbone’s latest album Still Stuck In Your Throat and the freshman release of rising indie hip-hop duo Blu & DJ Exile, titled Below The Heavens throughout grassroot marketing campaigns.
I then moved on to an internship at Warner Bros. Records in the Urban New Media department, where I helped build, manage, and create content for social media sites belonging to artists like Mike Jones, MURS, E-40, Wiz Khalifa, Jay Rock, Talib Kweli and several more. During the 15 months I was there, I developed and honed the necessary skills to not only create content, but make sure it hits the web and effectively draws traffic to the hosting site.
After spending the next year or so as an online marketing manager for an MP3 and car audio company, I finally made my way back into the music industry as a van driver/promotions assistant at one of the largest rock radio stations in the world, KROQ.
After only a few months in promotions, I found myself assisting in the digital department, helping once again create content for the website and covering festivals, concerts and more. I was brought aboard full-time, and now have a number of responsibilities under my belt, including creating multiple weekly e-mail blasts, photographing in-studio guests and concerts, videotaping interviews and live performances, posting daily blogs, help run the social media sites and a slew of other tasks.
